About the Event
Strength 2 Thrive is a walk-a-thon, concert, and gathering that we hope will bring people together to raise awareness about suicide and build a community of support. The event will feature an overnight walk-a-thon that will take place during the hours suicide rates are at their highest from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (general festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m.). Local musicians Sons of Country, Max Clark & Kyler Daron will be performing. Also, Project 88.7 will be live and onsite! And you will hear testimonials and stories from people who have been impacted by suicide.
And we have a BIG GOAL! We want to see at least 40 teams of five people each walk throughout the night to show solidarity with those who are suffering. And we are challenging each team to raise $5,000 to donate to national and local suicide prevention organizations. That’s $200,000 in one night! It’s a big goal, but with your help, we can meet it.
